This post begins with an announcement: The gorgeous Image Journal has just published one my short essays! To celebrate this humbling extravagance, I asked composer, conductor, music educator and fellow contemplative Ryan Keenbaugh if he would collaborate on creating an original score for my narration of the essay. He graciously and generously jumped into the work with me, and I’m so excited to share the finished production with you!
As we all start to hope in the arrival of spring, it’s not too early to remember that growth is never a straight line. It won’t always look the way we want; it takes what it takes. This is part of the Real, too.
"Pick a palm full of peas every other morning." Who else gives you a feast of p's like Nicole P. Parsons? No one! '-) This sings with every calibre of p, but what I really want to say is, what a beautiful marriage of music and word. The original score is jaw dropping! Once again I find myself so moved, deep down. Thank you, Nicole.
This was an absolute reprieve. I was completely wrapped up in the music of it all. To find a score that would actually match the sacred pace of your words seemed unlikely and yet somehow your friend and collaborator has done it! Beautifully done to you, what an absolute enveloping experience that listen was! I love you.
